Overview of the course program
The First Year
First semester:
a) Principles of Physiology, Clinical Psycho-Physiology and Psycho-somatic Disorders (Antonio Federici, Department of Biomedical Sciences and Oncology - Section of Human Physiology, University of Bari – Italy
b) Non Linear Methodologies and Complex Systems Theory (Elio Conte - Course Director)
Second semester: c) Recurrence Quantification Analysis (RQA): a specialized course on RQA methodology and its clinical applications ( Fernanda Strozzi- Università L. Cattaneo-Castellanza-Varese)
d) Analysis of Heart Rate Variability by RQA ( Alessandro Giuliani- Istituto Superiore di Sanità – ISS - Rome-Italy) The Second Year
First semester:
e) Non Linear Methodologies in Psychology and Psychiatry (Franco Orsucci, Department of Clinical Psychology, University College London, UK)
f) Analysis of Variability of R-R intervals by the CZF method with applications in physiology, psycho-physiology and psychiatry (Elio Conte, Antonio Federici).
Second semester:
The second semester of the second year will be devoted only to research. Students will perform training and experimental application of the non linear methodologies on some different fields of clinical interest and thus they will start research on a selected field of interest in order to realize a final dissertation..
